Music scheduling
Troubleshooting
Fixes for unscheduled positions, too many issues, clock runtimes and rules that don't apply.
Generating fails straight away
- Check that one of your templates is set as the default. The scheduler can't run without one.
Hours are missing after generating
- Check the default template has a clock assigned to those hours. Hours with no clock are skipped.
- If Regenerate Existing Playlists was unticked, hours that were already generated are left as they were.
Too many unscheduled positions
- Relax rules: make strict separation rules breakable, or reduce separation times.
- Add more tracks to categories that are running thin, or that have no tracks at all.
- Check which rules are blocking: open the issue for the unscheduled position to see which unbreakable rules every candidate broke.
Too many breakable issues
- Tighten rules: increase separation times or make rules unbreakable.
- Add more tracks to give the scheduler more options.
Clocks over or under target runtime
- Check the Current Duration bar at the bottom of the clock editor.
- Add or remove positions to match your target hour length.
- Remember that actual track durations vary, so a generated hour won't always match the clock exactly. Check the Current Duration bar in Logs for the real figure.
Rules not taking effect
- Check that the rule is an Active Rule.
- Check its Active Time Windows. The rule may only apply during particular hours.
- Check its Scope. A Music only rule won't apply to non-music items, and the other way round.
- Check the Value and Unit are set correctly (for example, 3 Hours, not 3 Minutes).
- Check your tracks have the information the rule needs. For example, tempo rules are skipped for tracks with no BPM.
- Custom field rules aren't applied yet. See Rule types.
See Step 4: Rules.
