Music scheduling

Step 6: Clocks

Define the structure of each broadcast hour.

Go to Music Scheduling > Build > Clocks.

Clocks define the structure of a broadcast hour: how many items play, from which categories, and in what order.

Clock list

The Music Clocks page shows each clock as a card with its name, description, item count, Target runtime and an Over/Under figure showing how far the clock's current length is from its target. Click Create Clock to start a new one.

The clock editor

The clock editor has two panels.

Left panel: item library

Use Search all items… at the top to search across every item type, or open one of these sections:

  • Audio: search for individual tracks in your music library to place in a fixed position.
  • Notes: reusable text items, for example "Weather break" or "Traffic update".
  • Commands: reusable automation commands for your playout system.
  • Categories: browse your categories, then click one to see its subcategories. Drag a subcategory onto the clock to add a music position.
  • Ad Breaks: reusable commercial breaks with a set duration.
  • Genres: drag a genre onto the clock to add a position filled from that genre.

In Notes, Commands and Ad Breaks, use the + button to create a new reusable item.

Right panel: clock grid

The ordered list of items in the clock, with columns for Air Time, Type / Category, Title, Artist, Duration and Item ID.

Building a clock

Drag items from the library panel onto the clock grid.
Drop them at any position. A preview shows where the item will land.
Reorder items by dragging them within the grid.
Remove items by dragging them back to the library panel, or with Remove in the item's menu.

Per-item actions

Each item has a menu with:

  • Edit (for notes, commercials and commands)
  • Move up / Move down
  • Duplicate
  • Add note below
  • Add commercial below
  • Remove

Clock properties

Click the edit icon in the header to open Clock Properties and change:

  • Clock Name
  • Description: optional.
  • Color: used to identify the clock in templates.
  • Target Runtime (seconds): for example, 3600 for a full hour. The Current Duration bar at the bottom shows the clock's current length and how far it is over or under the target.

For a new clock, click Create Clock in the header to save it.

Example clock: "Daytime Music"
