Music scheduling

Step 3: Dayparts

Create named time periods and paint them onto the week.

Go to Music Scheduling > Settings > Dayparts.

Dayparts are named time periods (for example "Breakfast", "Daytime", "Drive", "Evening" and "Overnight") assigned to hours of the week. They're used by Daypart rotation rules, which stop the same track being scheduled twice in the same daypart on the same day.

Creating dayparts

Click Add in the Dayparts sidebar.
Enter a Name, for example "Breakfast".
Choose a Color using the colour picker, or type a hex code.
Click Create.

Assigning dayparts to the grid

The main area is a 7-day (Monday to Sunday) x 24-hour grid.

  1. Click a daypart in the sidebar to select it as your "paint" colour. Click it again to deselect it.
  2. Click any empty cell in the grid to assign that daypart to that day and hour.
  3. To reassign a cell, select a different daypart and click the cell.
  4. To clear a cell, click it while the same daypart is selected, or while no daypart is selected.
  5. Use the Clear All button to remove all assignments. You'll be asked to confirm.

Editing and deleting dayparts

  • Click the Edit icon next to a daypart to change its name or colour, then click Update.
  • Click the Delete icon to remove a daypart. You'll be asked to confirm, and its grid assignments are removed too.

A common setup might be:

  • Breakfast: 06:00–10:00 Mon–Fri
  • Daytime: 10:00–16:00 Mon–Fri
  • Drive: 16:00–19:00 Mon–Fri
  • Evening: 19:00–00:00 every day
  • Overnight: 00:00–06:00 every day
  • Weekend Daytime: 08:00–19:00 Sat–Sun
