Linking to Soundwaves
Approve your Relay from Soundwaves Studio with a short code, no password needed.
The Relay never asks for your Soundwaves password. Instead, it uses a short code you approve from inside your existing Soundwaves Studio session. That way the machine running the Relay is trusted without any credentials being typed into it.
Link the Relay
The first time you start it:
Install and launch the Relay
On first run it displays a short code and a button that opens Studio.
Approve the device in Studio
On the Relay link page in Studio, enter the code and approve the device. Approving it creates the Relay's identity inside your organisation.
Choose your networks
Choose which network or networks this Relay serves. That decides which libraries it's allowed to read from and write to.
Let it connect
The Relay picks up its credentials automatically and starts working. There's no key to copy back and forth.
Awaiting connection
Just after you approve it, Studio shows the Relay as Awaiting connection. That's normal: approval is only half of the handshake. It means the Relay has been allowed in but hasn't yet checked in and collected its credentials. As soon as it connects, the status turns to Active.
If it sits on Awaiting connection for more than a minute or two, check that the Relay is still running and that the machine has an internet connection.
Linking again
If you ever need to link a Relay again, after moving it or after its access was withdrawn, re-linking keeps its history. Nothing is imported or reported twice; it simply picks up where it left off. See Unlinking and re-linking.
