Connectors
Choose the connector that matches your playout system.
A connector is the adapter for your particular playout system. You choose it in the Relay's settings.
Read-only connectors never write to your database. They only read from it and push your library into Soundwaves.
RadioDJ
The most complete connector, and two-way. It applies changes you make in Soundwaves into your RadioDJ database, and tails RadioDJ's play history back into Soundwaves so your reporting stays accurate. This is the connector to use if you run RadioDJ.
mAirList
A read-only connector that reads your mAirList database and brings its folders, attributes and tracks into Soundwaves. It can also stream your play history upstream.
The mAirList connector was built against mAirList's published documentation rather than a specific live station. We recommend confirming it against your own install before relying on it in production. Get in touch at hello@soundwaveshq.com and we'll help you verify it.
PlayoutONE
A read-only connector for PlayoutONE that ingests your categories, tracks and play history into Soundwaves.
As with mAirList, the PlayoutONE connector is built to PlayoutONE's documented layout and should be checked against your own installation first. We're happy to help you confirm it works with your setup.
Custom database
The general-purpose option for any other system that stores its library in a mainstream database (MySQL/MariaDB or Microsoft SQL Server).
You describe where your tracks, categories and play history live using a simple mapping. The Relay reads them read-only and brings them into Soundwaves on a regular schedule.
If your playout system isn't one of the named ones above, this is usually the way in.
